SORASAF

Terms of Service

This is the same text shown inside the app.

These terms govern your use of the SORASAF app (the "app"), provided by SORASAF ("we"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

The app provides prayer times, the qibla direction, the text and recitation of the Quran, a collection of du'a, worship guides, Friday khutbah texts, a zakat calculator and a nearby-mosque finder. All of it is for your personal use.

Religious content is provided as guidance. Prayer times, zakat rates and the nisab may differ from official announcements. Refer to your state religious authority for certainty. Sections marked "not yet confirmed" are still awaiting a reviewer.

2. Your account

The app requires an account. You may sign up with an email address and a password, with a Google account, or with an Apple ID on iPhone. One verified email address belongs to one account only.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity under your account. Tell us at once if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

You can sign out of one device or all devices, and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is final and cannot be undone.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to abuse the app or our servers, and not to attempt to bypass their protections, including rate limits. You will not access our servers other than through the app. You will not copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app. You will not use the app for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or block an account that breaches these terms, or that poses a security risk to other users.

4. Third-party content and services

The app displays and links to content from third parties. Prayer times come from JAKIM (e-Solat) or AlAdhan. Quran recitation comes from everyayah.com, mp3quran.net and Quran.com. Khutbah texts come from the state Islamic religious departments, and their copyright remains theirs. Zakat rates are as announced by the state zakat boards. The recording of the Shahadah is "Shahadah.ogg" by iSurrender, licensed CC BY-SA 3.0, from Wikimedia Commons.

We do not control these services. Their availability and accuracy may change without notice, and their own terms apply. Directions open in Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps at your choice.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its design and its code belong to SORASAF. The text of the Quran is in the public domain. The fonts and audio clips used are under their respective open licences. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the app for personal use.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, including as to accuracy, availability or fitness for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app or reliance on its content, including inaccurate prayer times or zakat calculations.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.

7. Changes

We may change the app or these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use it afterwards means you accept the updated terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
